achievement in English is honored by membership
in Sigma Tau
Delta, the International English Honor
Society. Sigma Tau Delta’s purpose is to bestow
distinction upon undergraduates, graduates, and
scholars in academia as well as upon
professional writers who have recognized
accomplishments. As exceptional English
students, members of Sigma Tau Delta are given
the opportunity to excel further within their
discipline through annual awards and
scholarships and through publication in The
Rectangle. The organization also offers its
members the opportunity to fellowship with
eminent persons in the profession of English at
the biennial international convention. |

The Lee University Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta
offers its members the opportunity to: |
- Organize and participate in various
literary functions
- Interact and fellowship with others in
their discipline and involve the campus
community in the literary arts
- Develop meaningful relationships with
the English faculty of Lee University

- Attend the annual convention and hold
eligibility for national scholarships
- Hold officer positions which cultivate
valuable leadership skills
- Enhance their resumes by including a
distinguished and highly recognized
organization such Sigma Tau Delta among
their collegiate involvement
