Steve Swindle joined the Lee
University faculty in 2004
as an Associate Professor of
Political Science. He
received his PH.D. in 1997
from the University of
California, San Diego and
has held previous academic
positions at the Norwegian
University of Science and
Technology, Brigham Young
University, and Southeast
Missouri State University.
He teaches in the areas of
comparative politics,
American government, and
research methods.
Dr. Swindle's research
interests are in the areas
of comparative democratic
institution, particularly in
relation to their effect on
the nature of political
representation. He has
published articles in the
American Political Science
Review, Comparative
Political Studies, and
Party Politics.
He is faculty co-advisor to
Pi Sigma Alpha (the
national honors society of
political science) and the
University Democrats.
He is also currently working
to establish a Model United
Nations program at Lee as
well as developing a study
abroad trip focusing on the
European Union and EU
expansion.
Dr Swindle and his wife
Heather have three children:
Erica, Jonathan, and Nora.
In his spare time you will
find Dr. Swindle doing
almost anything that
involves sports. |
